Our rector Bill is busy with one of his doctoral courses this week soI’m filling in for him. Join me in praying for him.
It has been a week of disturbing events in our nation. We know that no matter what happens, the Lord is still on his throne. Bill’s sermon yesterday was excellent application on thinking Christianly in these anxious times. I encourage you to take the time to listen if you missed it, or perhaps re-listen to it here.
RSM (6pm) and Children’s Ministry (6:30pm) begin their Wednesday night programming this week at the church, and I am excited about our new format for adults on Zoom (6:30pm)! Our goals are to connect people, help grow each of us spiritually, and allow for those who can’t join regularly on Wednesdays to participate when they can.
This Wednesday Darlene will teach on the season of Epiphany and John 1 – the Light that is Christ, and we’ll have a prayer service for our nation. I’m planning to teach next week on what the Bible says about the sacredness of life from womb to tomb.
Each month, our schedule (unless otherwise announced) will be:
Week 1 Mission First (focus on a different ministry we support each month)Week 2 Worship Discipleship (examples: liturgy, teaching)Week 3 Bible Study taught by our adult ed. teamWeek 4 Rector’s Choice
We started this past Wednesday with a visit with our missionary partners, Mike and Kim Miller. If you missed it, catch up with the recording here. We’ll get to hear from a different ministry partner the first Wednesday of every month.
Again, join when you can. When we connect we develop a greater sense of community and through it, we grow together.
As we go into this week, remember, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (Jn. 1:5)
