Second Week of Advent and Stewardship (Rector’s Letter 12/7)

Second Week of Advent and Stewardship (Rector’s Letter 12/7)

Dear Redeemer Family:
This is the second week of Advent, and the Collect for the week is one of my favorite Anglican collective prayers. I encourage you to turn to page 598 and pray that prayer throughout this week.
With Christmas Eve is rapidly approaching, I am seeking to make the final decision on what time our Christmas Eve services will be, and whether there will be two or three services. PLEASE respond, if you have not already, to the survey. You can find it on our website, find it in this email below, or simply click HEREto take it. It should take less than a minute. Your choices for service times are 3PM, 5PM, 7PM and 9PM – we plan to have either two or three services, depending on expected in-person attendance. Once we nail down the times, we will send out the service sign-up sheet next Monday, to get actual attendance numbers (how many will be attending with you) for each service. Our goal is to ensure that every in-person attendee is able to be in the sanctuary, while maintaining safety and proper social distancing.
This is also the season of Stewardship at Redeemer. Click HERE for our 2021 Stewardship Brochure. I am asking all Redeemer members to set aside time to say your prayers, and then make your pledge for your giving of your Time, Talent, and Treasure for 2021. This will enable your Vestry and Staff to create a working budget for 2021, and avoid guesswork. If things change in your financial situation during the year, just let the office know. It is better for us to have your best estimate, than for us to have to guess at expected giving levels.
We will celebrate our Ingathering Sunday for our pledges during Lessons and Carols on December 20th. Thank you for your prayerful preparation for this Stewardship season at Redeemer, and for your partnership in the Lord’s work in and through Redeemer!
In the service of Jesus Christ, and in expectation of his future Advent,
Fr. Bill
