Rector’s Letter for June 22, 2020

Dear Redeemer Family: It is now week 15 since Covid-19 changed our world; over 100 days have passed in this strange new “normal” began. I know that I still have some level of anxiety and concern as I consider the summer and fall – what will happen, will things get better or worse, will I get sick and if so how sick… I am guessing that most of you have similar feelings.I have found peace in the midst of my…

New Initiatives

On Wednesdays, Morning and Midday Prayer are now being conducted outdoors on the lawn in front of our building (weather permitting), and you are invited to join Fr. Bill either at 8:30 or 12:00 – or both. Bring your own chairs and masks or you can stay in your car. Bring your own BCP too or let Fr. Bill know if you’d like to purchase one for $20.On Sundays, we have begun hosting a weekly Zoom gathering for After-Church Fellowship,…

New Option for Families with Young Children

Families with children are always welcome in the sanctuary, but for those who would prefer a space more friendly to very active children, we have converted the Children’s Church area into socially-distanced sections of tables and chairs in front of a large screen that will be livestreaming the service. In this week’s sign-up survey, there will be an option to sign up to use that area, which will be available until we are able to restart nursery and children’s programs.

Sign Up to Attend Our 10:00 a.m. Sunday Services!

As we return to having services in person as well as continuing to live-stream indefinitely, we need to know each week who plans to attend in person and if you are willing to volunteer. Signing up to volunteer doesn’t necessarily mean we will need you this week. If many sign up, we will begin to form teams. If you think you will be anxious in a group setting, or are in a vulnerable population and need to self-isolate, or just want to wait and see…

6:30 p.m. Wednesday Zoom Gathering

Please join us on WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 6:30 p.m., for our Virtual Wednesday Evening! We will be using the Zoom conference platform. It is relatively easy to use, and it provides a way for us to meet together as a group, and to see one another all together. Join us this week as we finish our study of Colossians with chapter 4. Read ahead if you want! A short teaching will be followed by small group discussion and prayer, closing…

Small Group Connections

We are launching small groups hosted via Zoom! We’re excited that a majority of our adults, and numerous families, are now meeting in small groups via Zoom, others on the phone. If you are not yet in a group, don’t miss out! We are still working on making contacts with some, but please reach out to Darlene Fray at darlene.redeemer@gmail.com if you are one of those folks, and she’ll get you connected. The face-to-face interactions on Zoom are especially helpful in this…

Join Us via Livestream!

Please join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. via Livestream! There will be NO programs on site Sunday morning. Redeemer is instructing members to worship from home, using our Facebook Live streaming at 10:00AM Sunday morning, which can be found by pressing the button, “Livestream for 10:00 a.m. Service” above. (note, you do not have to watch live at 10AM… you can watch the recorded service anytime after we are completed – the video will be posted on our…

At-Home Communion

We are seeking to care for you by offering home communion to those who want it. This will be communion of one kind (bread only) to be picked up at the church, with an instructed liturgy to be included in the packet. Contact Jeanne Higgins via text 904-866-9068 or by email elvish999@yahoo.com if you would like to learn more about this or if you would be willing to help with this ministry.

An Important Note About Giving During COVID19 Crisis

Please remember to give your pledges, tithes, and offerings, using our online giving instructions (where you can give through your bank, or immediately through our link) which can be found by clicking “Online Giving” under the “Get Involved” tab. We look forward to worshiping with you through Church of the Redeemer’s Facebook page at 10AM on Sunday. It is more important than ever to support Redeemer financially. Although we are not meeting at the church, we still must maintain the building, support…
