Celebrate Saint Matthew’s Day With Us!

Did you know that there’s a holiday coming up? Monday, September 21 is a holiday in the Anglican Church year called, “Saint Matthew’s Day.” The Church has come to call these days “feast” days because, on these days, Christians come together to celebrate a feast in memory of Christ’s life and the lives of his Apostles. “St. Matthew’s Day” is a day where we come together to eat the Eucharist and give thanks for the gift of the evangelist Matthew, who loved…

Annual Congregational Meeting and Vestry Election 9/27 (Rector’s Letter 9/13)

Dear Redeemer Family, I am enjoying this four-week walk through Psalm 23, especially since we are walking, learning, and growing together. Today we continue our devotional with day 7. If you do not yet have a copy of the book, When the Lord is My Shepherd, either download a PDF copy from www.redeemerlives.net or pick one up from the church office. The final Sunday of our journey through Psalm 23, September 27, will also be our annual Congregational Meeting. Your Vestry is working…

A Study on the Holy Spirit (Rector’s Letter for 9/8)

Dear Redeemer Family: I am very excited about our journey together into Psalm 23. This past Sunday was my first of 4 sermons on Psalm 23, and today is Day-2 of our 23 day devotional study “When the Lord is My Shepherd.” If you are a member of Redeemer, you should have received a copy of the devotional book in the mail. If you did not receive your copy, click here to download a pdf-copy of the book from Redeemer’s website, and then email Shirley…

Rector’s Letter for 8/31

Dear Redeemer Family, This morning I am struck by how deeply I miss seeing all of you together. It has been over 5 months since I have seen some of you, and since we were all last gathered together at Redeemer for worship and prayer. Your Ministry Team is committed to the work of maintaining connection between you and your Redeemer community. We are ready and willing to come by for a visit, to deliver communion, or to just see…

Rector’s Letter for 8/24

Dear Redeemer Family: It was so good to worship with you, my Redeemer family, yesterday both in-person and online. I wanted to clarify something that I said at the beginning of the service. I mentioned that my hope was for all of us to worship together, live, at 10AM. Later I realized, that my comment did not give grace to those who may not be able to worship at 10AM, and would worship later through the recorded video. The technology…

Rector’s Letter for 8/17

Dear Redeemer Family: This past Sunday we had the highest in-person attendance (65) since the coronavirus crisis began. It was good to see so many of you, especially many children. As in-person attendance increases, please remember to use our online sign in, so we are prepared for all who will attend. We are also in need of volunteers to help with Greeting and Ushering. If you are willing to serve as a Greeter or Usher, please email Shirley.redeemer@gmail.com. I am aware…

Rector’s Letter for 8/10

Dear Redeemer Family: On this beautiful Monday morning, I am thankful for so many things. For my own life and calling, for my family, and for my Redeemer family. In the midst of my morning and days, I pray regularly for you all (usually by your faces, envisioning where you usually sit on Sundays, at least on Sundays before coronavirus). I am also thankful for you, as I know that many of you pray regularly for me and my family. This…

Rector’s Letter for 8/3

Dear Redeemer Family, It was great to be back with you after a refreshing time of vacation, as we celebrated Holy Eucharist together yesterday. As I noted during the service, we will be returning to our “normal routine” of Holy Eucharist every Sunday. As we did yesterday, we will be distributing communion carefully to those who are in attendance, and we will have communion available for pick-up for those who continue to worship from home. Communion is now being offered…

Rector’s Letter for 7/28

Redeemer Family: Thank you for your prayers for me and my family while we were away on vacation. Kim and I both feel much more refreshed and rested than we expected. I am excited to be back, and ready to begin this Fall season with you at Redeemer. I am so thankful for the team’s work during our weeks away: for Jeanne and Scott, for Mike and Shirley in the office, Darlene and Clint and the music/media team, Tim, Prudence,…
