Redeemer 101, Volunteering, and Visioning Part 2 (Rector’s Letter for 5/10)

Redeemer 101, Volunteering, and Visioning Part 2 (Rector’s Letter for 5/10)

Dear Redeemer Family:
There are a LOT of exciting opportunities for you to join in the midst of the Lord’s work at Redeemer: Redeemer 101 class, volunteering, worship with the Sudanese congregation, and the upcoming Visioning-Part2 meeting (May 22).
This Sunday we will begin a 5-week seminar entitled Redeemer 101. This is for newcomers to learn more about Redeemer, and for established members to welcome them (and be reminded of our history, worship, and ministry). We will meet in between our two services, from 9:10-9:50. You can join in virtually through Zoom, or in person (where coffee/tea will be provided). I will be there, and I hope to see many of you there as well.
Volunteering… there are many different opportunities for you to get involved, from greeters, making coffee, ushering, or serving in the nursery, altar guild, as a reader, or leading the prayers of the people. Please email shirley.redeemerjax@gmail.com to sign up or learn more. Jesus commissions us all to GO and make disciples as we are GOING… we are all, therefore, commissioned to serve Him in His work!
I am seeking to build a closer relationship with the Sudanese congregation that uses our building, and I hope some of you will join me. This Sunday (5/16) I have been invited to preach during their worship service (4:30-6PM).Join me, and meet some of our brothers and sisters who weekly worship in the same space that we use!
Finally, please plan to participate in our upcoming Visioning-Part2 meeting on Saturday, May 22. from 9-12 pm (Noon). You can join the meeting in-person or through Zoom. We will be discussing the results of our first meeting, and moving forward in discerning WHO the Lord is calling us to be at Redeemer, and WHERE He is calling us to serve in his Kingdom work. Attendance was very strong at our first meeting, and I look forward to even more of you attending on May 22!
Exciting times, indeed! All praise to the Lord Jesus Christ, who has redeemed us by his blood, and who daily empowers us by his Holy Spirit as he sends us out to do the work he has called us to do.
Fr. Bill
