Rector’s Letter for 8/24

Rector’s Letter for 8/24

Dear Redeemer Family:

It was so good to worship with you, my Redeemer family, yesterday both in-person and online. I wanted to clarify something that I said at the beginning of the service. I mentioned that my hope was for all of us to worship together, live, at 10AM. Later I realized, that my comment did not give grace to those who may not be able to worship at 10AM, and would worship later through the recorded video. The technology of Facebook Live is a gift, enabling us to join together from many different places, and enabling others who would otherwise miss the service to worship when they are able. If you are not able to join “live” Sunday at 10AM, I am blessed to know that you are able to worship later when your schedule permits.

We will continue to celebrate Holy Eucharist together on Sundays, as was our pattern of worship before coronavirus. If you are not able to attend in-person and would like to have communion brought to you, please let us know. Scott, Jeanne or I will bring Eucharist to you.

I also mentioned yesterday our upcoming “all-together” study of Psalm 23 during September. It is titled: When the Lord is our Shepherd.

You will be receiving booklets by US Mail, which will guide your study with daily devotionals for Mon-Sat. Each Sunday in Sept. the sermons will address a primary theme from Psalm 23, and tie together with the booklets. On Wed evenings, we will further discuss the material during our 6:30PM Zoom Gatherings. In this season of social-distancing, separation, and disconnection, I look forward to the Redeemer family working through When the Lord is our Shepherd together.

In the service of our risen redeemer, Jesus Christ,
Fr. Bill
