Hubbard House

Hubbard House

The Hubbard House (HH)  organization, operational since 2006, is a safe haven for families who have fallen victim to domestic violence. Beyond providing safety, their priorities are to empower victims and to bring social change through education and advocacy.

Hubbard House’s client base totals 5,000 victims a year including many young children. The average stay at HH is 3 months. It is a place they can “hide and stay safe” until they are ready to begin a new life away from the abusive person who has harmed them. Victims of domestic violence are traumatized and often feel helpless and alone. They generally believe their community does not care about them.

Desiring to know more about Hubbard House and how Redeemer might become involved in ministry there, several members were given a tour in January 2016. As a result of that visit, a decision was made by Missions and Outreach to show Hubbard House clients visibly how much God loves them and that they are not alone, by providing fresh, nutritionally dense food every month including fruit, vegetables, meats and dairy. In this way, Church of the Redeemer is assisting the Hubbard House team to transform Lives. We believe it is our call to express compassion for those facing stormy times. Because Jesus lives, we can face tomorrow with hope and faith.’
