Our Partnership with Cornerstone
Redeemer has a wonderful partnership with a local urban congregation, Christ the Living Cornerstone Church (2105 Phoenix Ave, 32206) pastored by the Rev. Leon P. Key III. This relationship goes back to 2008. Currently, Redeemer hosts an ongoing Tuesday Tutoring outreach at Cornerstone that is offered to neighborhood students (grade K-12) in the Cornerstone community. Tutoring begins at 5.00 pm each Tuesday, and offers academic subject review in math and language arts, as well as Biblical and character development lessons. If you are interested in volunteering at Tuesday Tutoring, please contact Rick Wallis at 891.0228. Redeemer’s partnership with Cornerstone has also included community cookouts, clean-up projects, and pastoral visits by Pastor Leon to Redeemer, as well as pastoral visits by Redeemer clergy to Cornerstone.

Camp Cornerstone, which took place on Tuesdays during the month of July 2012, blessed many. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Tuesday Afternoon Tutoring
The tutoring program at Cornerstone is continuing to meet every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at 2105 Phoenix Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32206. Please contact Rebekah Kelemen at rebekah.kelemen@gmail.com or (904) 345-1132 if you are interested in donating snacks and supplies, or if you would like to volunteer. We need creative minds for ideas regarding crafts, games, and group activities! Volunteering can entail: reading one-on-one or with a small group, helping with snacks, playing a game with a small group, helping one-on-one with homework, overseeing the sign-in table, leading or assisting with a group craft or activity, or simply talking with and loving the students who come to Cornerstone for a safe haven. We have been blessed with some generous donations of books and supplies from the members of the congregation.
