Redeemer Women's Retreat
"Seeing the God Who Sees Me" - October 8th & 9th at Epworth by the Sea, St. Simons Island, Georgia (www.epworthbythesea.org/).
Where have you come from? Where are you going? When a desperate Hagar encounters an angel of the Lord, her life is transformed as she considers these questions. Come listen to magnificent stories of women who have seen God act in their lives and explore how you can learn from Hagar how to "see the God who sees you".
Genesis 16:13 - She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."
Knowing that God sees where we are in life is sometimes hard to believe. When life come crashing in around us, it can isolate us and bring a sense of hopelessness to us. As we look at the story of Sarah & Hagar, we will find that we are not the first women in the world to wonder if God sees us. We will find hope and encouragement from their experiences...as well as draw nearer to the One who saw them and sees us!
Speakers: Kim Driscoll and life stories from other Redeemer women.
Rooms are double-occupancy with meals and refreshments included. (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast & lunch) Friday night & Saturday $95.

Toula’s Tips for Caregivers - Tune in and listen to words of encouragement to help you care for yourself as well as your loved one. Toula Wootan’s radio program “Toula’s Tips for Caregivers” broadcasts Saturday's at 11:00 p.m. on WBOB, 1530 AM Radio. Help is on the air. Christ-Centered Yoga incorporates postures and movements we already use in our tradition of worship as well as postures and movements that are unique to yoga. There will be times to gently stretch and move; to actively pray the scriptures, our thanksgivings, and our concerns; and to contemplate more deeply our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Classes are Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Redeemer Ministry Center. Childcare is available by reservation only and space for childcare is limited. Men's Bible Study - Understanding, interpreting and applying the Bible is what we aim for in Redeemer’s Men’s Bible Study Thursdays, 7:00-7:45 a.m. in the parish hall. We enjoy breakfast, wrestle with the Bible passages for the following Sunday, pray briefly in small groups, and then head out to face the day. Women's Retreat - Seeing the God Who Sees Me - October 8th & 9th at Epworth by the Sea, St. Simons Island. Join us for a weekend of teaching, drama, worship, testimonies and small-group discussion with time for prayer, personal reflection and fellowship. Speakers include Kim Driscoll and life stories from other Redeemer women. The cost for a Double-occupancy room with meals and refreshments is $95.00 per person. Carpooling will be available. Registration after both services begins August 29 and runs through September 15. Registration forms can also be downloaded at www.redeemerlives.net/events and returned to the Ministry Center.
Women's Thursday morning Bible Study - will begin again at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 16. We will be beginning an exploration of one the most important verses in the Bible, John 3:16. Max Lucado will be with us on DVD for 6 weeks guiding us through these words of hope. We encourage you to join us for study, prayer and fellowship. C.O.B.S. (Community Outreach & Bible Study) Cookout - Join us Sunday, September 5, from 6-9 p.m. at the home of Rick and Carol Wallis (3306 Eman Dr., Jacksonville, 732-4756) for dinner, worship, and Bible study. We will continue our study through the gospel of Matthew and discuss outreach opportunities for this fall. Open to all (childcare not provided). First Place 4 Health is a life-changing, Christ-centered weight-loss and healthy living program, for men and women of all ages, who want to lose excess weight, lower cholesterol, and learn better eating habits. The program also helps participants become more disciplined in the areas of prayer, Bible study and exercise. We will be starting our Fall session on September 15th at 6:30 in the ministry center. New members are welcome to join, but must attend an orientation session at 6 pm on the 15th. We will be using the Bible Study "God's Purpose For You" by First Place 4 Health. Please call the church office to sign up, and make sure you mention if you will need the materials or if you plan to buy them on your own. The New Member's Kit is $100 and the Bible Study book is $20. Deadline to sign up for materials is September 8. Call Kim Driscoll if you have any questions 379-0589.
