Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus
Feb 21-March 27, 2010
Teaching team: Neil and Marcia Lebhar

We begin a new Lenten adult education course on Sunday February 21 at 11:30 am which will focus on the ministry of Jesus in the context of the Jewish world of His time. The course will both consider key themes of his teaching and also review briefly some of the key sites which we normally visit while on an Israel tour. The accompanying book for the course is Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus by A. Spangler and L. Tverberg. Copies will be available for purchase. Please come join us!

Confirmation Class
Feb 21-March 28
Led by The Rev. Bill Driscoll and Jeanne Higgins

Confirmation is a public opportunity in a worship service to make adult vows of commitment to Christ and receive prayer for empowerment of the Holy Spirit by a bishop. It is an opportunity for those who may have been baptized as children to make their own personal profession of faith. Others may reaffirm their faith in Christ.

We offer a class to prepare those who wish to be confirmed so that they understand what it means to be a Christian, and how to live as an effective follower of Christ. There will also be an introduction to the meaning of our worship services and some background information about Anglican history and understandings of faith in Christ.

Because confirmation is an adult commitment, we generally recommend the class for adults and high school students in ninth grade and above. We also recommend it for those who may have been confirmed in another Christian tradition who wish to publicly identify with this part of the Body of Christ, or for those who have fallen away from church and have now returned. In addition, confirmation class is an excellent refresher course for all adults desiring to walk more closely with Christ and serve Him more powerfully.

The class will meet from 11:30 to 12:30 on Sundays from February 21 to March 28 in the large classroom off the fellowship hall at Beth Israel. There will be a half day retreat on March 28 as well. Confirmation will take place Sunday, April 11 at the 10:00 service. Please join us!

New Wednesday Night Study: How to Live Victoriously

We as Christians are to appear different from the world. Everything we do is to be exemplary and noticeable to those around us. “Victorious Living” is noticed, it is attractive, and gives you a very powerful witness and testimony. So, how do we deal with all this? How do we live victoriously? Join us as we explore this concept beginning Wednesday, Feb 24 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the Ministry Center. Contact Roy Batterman for more information, 707-4573.
