New Vision, Mission, Creed and Core Values

New Vision

New Focus
  • We will not just provide a diversity of programs. We will focus on making disciples; and helping them grow closer to Christ.
  • Catalysts for growth will be emphasized:
    1. Learning the Scriptures - New Sermon Series on the Scriptures, classes, etc.
    2. Learning to Serve - in the community, in the church
    3. Learning to Share - how to actually bring others closer to Christ through mentoring and witness
 New Home
  • We are grateful for the present, for our friendship with Beth Israel and not having to set up every week.
  • But "We've gotta get out of this place."
    1. Inadequate space is available during the week
    2. We cannot hold special services.
  •  Plan for the Future Home-
    1. The Fall Faith in Action capital campaign will be held to get pledges first.
    2. We will then determine what we can actually afford and trust the Lord to help us find it or build it. His plan for us is not limited by the economy!
New Relationship to the Larger Church
  • New Local Relationships are developing.
    1. Christ the Living Cornerstone Church - Pastor Leon Key
    2. Second Harvest, City Rescue, other local missions
  •   We will take our part in the New Anglican Church in North America.
New Expectations of Members
  • All members here will do everything they can to grow as disciples.
  • Membership is more than showing up.
  • Each member needs to learn the Scriptures more, pray more, serve more, give more.
  • Where we see weaknesses, we will address them and strengthen one another without grumbling.
New Confidence in the Lord
  • We have been shaky in the "trusting God" department.
  • The Lord will help us- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians  4:13, NKJV)
  • We will not give into fears. The words of Moses should ring in our ears- "See, the LORD your   God has  given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your   fathers, told you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 1:21, NIV)
The Presentation of the Vision audio on June 28, 2009 will be listed in our Podcasts section

Our Mission:

To Make Followers who Know Christ, Grow Together, and Go into the World

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Redeemer’s Core Values

  1. Jesus calls us to be disciples who know Him personally and are growing in Him through study and obedience to the Scriptures.
  2. Our worship should honor God, draw us closer to Him, and prepare us to reach the world for His sake.
  3. We must demonstrate the love of Jesus in our relationships with one another, especially through our small groups.
  4. We value being an intergenerational community.
  5. We are committed to servanthood ministry which is grounded in prayer, based on spiritual gifts, and accomplished by committed teams led by servant leaders.
  6. As disciples called to make disciples, we must proclaim the kingdom of God to all, with a strategic focus on sharing the good news of Jesus with youth.
  7. We believe that God blesses our partnerships with Anglican and other ministries as we seek to extend His Kingdom.
