Congregational Lenten Study - Please join us as we as a congregation read The Hole in Our Gospel during Lent. The author is Richard Stearns, the President of World Vision. This challenging book addresses what a Christian response to the problem of global poverty might be. Our sermon series will look at the relevant Scriptures associated with each section of the book. We will also have an online discussion board to talk about the questions and issues that the book brings up for us. A reading schedule is posted to keep up with the discussion. Each Sunday and Thursday during Lent, new discussion questions will be posted. We have been talking about microlending on our blog site and recommended KIVA.org. Our own Javier Herrera works with another organization that also does microlending http://www.haitihealth.org/index.php/site/page/micro_lending and he recommends it as a site that does the same for the hospital that he visits in Haiti. It is closer to home and many are familiar with the community already.
